Stuck on a Gothic 1 Remake chest? This gothic remake lockpicking solver reads your current plate positions and the same / opposite links between them, then returns the shortest legal click sequence so you don't burn another lockpick guessing left or right.
Set up a 4–7 plate lock the way you see it on screen, mark how each plate drags its neighbours, and press SOLVE LOCK. Consecutive identical moves are grouped, so the result is easy to follow in-game.
Every failed chest in Gothic 1 Remake costs a lockpick, and lockpicks are scarce early game. A single misread link or a wrong-direction click can wreck a 30-second attempt and force you to leave the chest, rebuy picks, and walk all the way back. This gothic remake lockpicking solver removes the guesswork entirely: read the lock once on screen, press one button here, and follow the resulting sequence in-game. Because the solver plans the fewest legal plate presses for your exact configuration, including the same and opposite links between plates, you stop burning picks on chests the game has already shown you the answer to in its own UI.
Plans the fewest legal plate presses for your current lock state, with consecutive identical moves grouped into a single step you can read at a glance.
Works for any lock in the game, from the easiest 4-plate chests up to the toughest 7-plate ones. Pick the plate count and the solver adjusts automatically.

Reading the link grid is the part most players get wrong on their first chest. Same means the linked plate moves in the same direction as the plate you press, so if Plate 1 moves right and the link from Plate 1 to Plate 2 is Same, Plate 2 also moves right. Opposite means the linked plate moves in the opposite direction, so Plate 2 would move left while Plate 1 moves right. None means the plates are not linked and pressing one does not move the other at all. On this page the link grid uses three states: None (empty cell), Same (S in green), and Opposite (O in red). Click any non-diagonal cell to cycle through them until it matches what you see in-game. If the solution you get here does not match the lock state in-game after pressing the listed moves, the most common cause is a single Same/Opposite mistake somewhere in the grid, with a wrong start pin on Plate 1 as the second most common cause.

All standard Gothic 1 Remake locks: 4, 5, 6, and 7 plates. Pick the count that matches the chest and the rows update automatically.
No install and no sign-up. Open the page, set up the lock, and solve. Your data stays on your device — nothing is sent to a server.
Yes. Use the Save chest button in the right-hand CHESTS panel to store the current setup under a name, then reload it from the same panel next time.
Re-check the Link Grid first — a single Same/Opposite mistake cascades through the whole sequence. Then verify the start pin on Plate 1 matches what's on screen. The solver works from your exact configuration.
This gothic remake lockpicking solver started as a personal scratchpad while replaying Gothic 1 Remake's harder chests and grew into the public version on this page. It is fan-made, free to use, and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the publishers or developers of the game or its remake. Every lock in Gothic 1 Remake is solvable once its configuration is entered correctly, because the puzzle has no randomness, only hidden state. If the solver cannot return a solution for a configuration you entered, double-check the link grid first: a typo on a single Same/Opposite cell is by far the most common cause of an unsolvable lock, and fixing that cell usually makes the solver return a valid sequence immediately.
